Strawberry Iced Tea

Ingredients
  

  • 4 cups filtered water For boiling
  • 4 teaspoons loose rooibos tea Herbal tea, rich in antioxidants
  • Strawberry simple syrup Homemade syrup made with fresh strawberries
  • Ice For serving
  • Fresh strawberry slices For garnish
  • Fresh lemon slices For garnish

Method
 

  1. Bring the filtered water to a boil in a teapot or saucepan.
  2. Add the rooibos tea to the boiling water and steep for 5 minutes.
  3. Strain the tea through a fine mesh strainer and let it cool to room temperature.
  4. Refrigerate the tea for about 1 hour until it’s completely chilled.
  5. To assemble the iced tea, fill glasses with ice and pour the chilled tea into each glass, about three-quarters full.
  6. Stir in a few tablespoons of strawberry simple syrup to taste, adding more if desired.
  7. Garnish with fresh strawberry and lemon slices, then serve immediately.
